Alfie
💜 Remembering Alfie 💜
Alfie surely had THE best ears I got to draw, ever! He was part of a big pack; I believe there are seven still left.
Here is what his human, Andrea, told me about him:
Alfie was a reserved little man, not the biggest on affection. He stuck to me but wasn’t into giving or taking massive displays of affection 🤣. A lick on the face when I’d get home from being out was the extent of it but it meant a lot!! But he’d pull back from kisses or cuddles so we avoided them.
He was a one person dog (me). Very loyal.
He was so gentle, an auld soul before his time. Not at all exuberant or excitable but He was alert and always watching.
He was happiest in my arms as we walked around the house or behind me on the chair as I worked.
Very calm. Very watchful. Very trusting of me. He didn’t have an exuberant personality - he would literally just sit with me or sleep in the bed and was happy. Where he came from meant he had few social skills as a young dog so he was always a bit aloof with everyone (but me!).
Sorry, hard to describe as he wasn’t excitable or affectionate or mischievous or angry - he was a bit odd, aloof and didn’t show much emotion.
He was brave - he went through a lot in the last couple of years to keep him going with a good quality of life and he never complained - he just went along with everything and all the vets and staff in the different places would say he was quiet and reserved - not what they expected from a chihuahua!
