Miss Sally O

💜 Remembering Miss Sally O 💜

So many followed Ms Sally’s adventures on Instagram (@MandolaJane) during her 9 years with us, and witnessed her amazing progression, from the time she left her puppy mill life behind and started anew. We don’t know how old she was but it did seem she was getting younger by the day. Sal re-learned to walk and run, despite her weak, dislocating hind legs. Soon she kept up really well with Evie and Dexter. Apart from two occasions when she barked, she preferred to transmit her needs, wishes and demands in a more subliminal fashion. After she lost her sight, a few month back, she started calling me with the tiniest sounds, when she needed assistance.

I don’t need to elaborate on Miss Sally’s charm, fun character, humor and quirks - all traits were evident in her posts. She was the cutest little Diva, which is why I gave her a “proper” name. I told her every day that she was beautiful and famous! And, if the occasion arose that I had to travel and my son was minding, he also told her that she is beautiful and famous, making sure she won’t ever forget it.

We often reminisced about Miss Sally’s bouts over the years, when she got so ill but pulled through despite all odds. We marveled at the fact that she made it this far and concluded that she must have had a Lazarus gene, or was indeed half cat.

For such a tiny creature, Sal left a huge void. I still have not completely gotten used to the fact that she is gone. I do hope Evie was waiting for her on the other side, and that they are both having the best time. Monty, I imagine, probably ran the minute Miss Sally got to the other side, as he was terrified of her, the big wuss.
